Serve and Volunteer at Community Life Church in Peoria

Use your time, talents, and treasures for the glory of God

You are never closer to God than when you’re living on mission for God and it’s often where God does his deepest work in you (1 Peter 4:10-11). Join our team of volunteers committed to living out this mission.

ABOUT SERVING AT CLC

What does it mean to serve at Community Life?

At Community Life, serving means putting the gifts God gave you to work on a team, whether that is making the coffee before the doors open, teaching a room full of kids, or running sound for the band.

You do that work next to other Christians, and the team you serve with often becomes the people you know best here. Doing godly work together is how God forms you, which is what we mean when we say you are the disciple being made.

We know that you’re never closer to God than when you’re living on mission for God!

Scripture puts it plainly. “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace” (1 Peter 4:10). We desire to be a church that helps others live generously engaged!

Serving Opportunities

Each of these teams keeps a Sunday running. Find the one that fits you.

Hospitality

If making people feel at home is your thing, this is your team. Hospitality sets up, makes the coffee, puts out the treats, and keeps the building warm from the first person through the door to the last one out.

Kids Volunteers

Help kids know and love Jesus, at check-in, in the classroom, or elbow-deep in a craft project. The Kids team aims to partner with parents to help raise kids who love Jesus.

Worship Team

Play an instrument, sing, run sound, or run the lyrics. If music or tech is your gift, help lead the room in worship every Sunday.

Security Team

Work alongside our greeters to keep Sunday safe and welcoming, for guests, for members, and especially for the kids.

Baking Team

This team helps to provide treats for special days like baptisms, child-dedications, and holidays. If you enjoy baking, this would be a great team for you to serve on.

Greeting Team

This team has the privilege of being some of the first people to interact with those that come to our church. Their main job is to serve others with a warm and welcoming smile. We desire for everyone who steps through our doors to feel welcomed and loved. This team makes a real impact every Sunday morning.

Photography Team

The Photography Team captures meaningful moments from Sunday gatherings and church events. Team members help tell the story of what God is doing at CLC through high-quality, thoughtful photos used for social media, our website, and church communications. No professional experience is required—just a good eye, reliability, and a desire to serve.

Facilities

The facilities team helps to ensure the functions of the church are operational. Through acts of service, this team strives for consistent excellence in tasks such as set up, tear down, maintenance, and various other work through the week and weekend.

FAQ

A few questions people ask

Do I need to be a member to serve?

No. Most teams are open to anyone who has been around a few Sundays.

Can I try it before I commit?

Yes. Tell us on the form and we’ll get you alongside a team so you can see if it fits.

Are there any requirements to serve?

Most teams just need your willingness. A few, like Kids and Security, ask you to pass a background check and complete a short training first. It is one of the ways we keep everyone in our care, especially the kids, safe.

How much time does it take?

As much or as little as your season allows. Many people serve a couple of Sundays a month on a rotation.
